Features

Claude Pro and Max, and Codex on a ChatGPT plan: every window with its reset time, live from the provider, so other machines count too.

A small meter shows whether you are on pace, behind, or about to run out before the reset. ↑ marks an entry that burns fast.

Orange near the limit, red past it, and a notification when usage crosses your thresholds, 80% and 100% by default.

Pay-per-token spend on Vertex or the OpenAI API, against your own weekly or monthly budget.

Several accounts under one budget, like a monthly limit your company sets.

A built-in price table, one-click imports from LiteLLM, CSV import and export, and your own overrides. Every import shows a preview first.

Tokens per model, project and harness, with a per-day trend, folded away until you need them.

Pick the entries and their order with a live preview. Show levels as colored text, as a pill, or not at all.

Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode. An account stands for who pays, so Vertex spend from Claude Code and OpenCode lands in one budget.
Works offline. The last good values survive a restart and a missing network, marked ~ when they may be out of date.
Adaptive refresh. Refreshes less while you are away, in Low Power Mode or when the Mac runs hot, and right away when you open the menu.
Verified updates. One click installs a new release after checking its checksum, signature and notarization. Homebrew installs are recognized.
Sign-in alerts. A notification when an agent’s sign-in stops working.
One JSON file. Settings write a plain configuration file that you can edit by hand.
Privacy
To show plan limits, AgentTacho reads the sign-in tokens Claude Code and Codex already have, and sends each one only to that provider’s usage endpoint. It never refreshes or changes a login.
It never opens your browser’s data or its cookies. Token counts and spend come from the files your agents write on this Mac.
Besides asking Anthropic and ChatGPT for your plan limits, the only automatic request is the update check, which you can turn off. Price lists download only when you ask.
The README lists each file and keychain item AgentTacho reads, what for, and what it keeps.
Compare
CodexBar covers far more providers. AgentTacho covers fewer, lets you set a budget for any pay-per-token account, shares one budget across accounts, and keeps the menu bar to one line.
